Calacatta Gold is a luminous soft-white marble with bold, sweeping silver-grey veining and subtle golden accents.
The base is a clean soft-white, brighter and calmer than the busy grey of a Carrara. Across it run broad, sweeping veins in silver-grey, warmed here and there by fine golden accents that give the stone its name. The movement is large in scale, so it makes a statement and reads clearly from across a room rather than only up close. It is the most recognised look in natural marble, and it works with brass, timber, white joinery, black tapware and warm or cool neutrals alike.

Where it works
Calacatta Gold is a marble, so it wants a bit more care than the travertines in the range. It is softer, etches with acids, and needs sealing once it is down, which makes it best suited to areas where it will be seen rather than worked hard. The sweeping veining is the whole point, so it rewards a large, uninterrupted surface. A slab on an island, benchtop or feature wall lets the movement flow the way it should, and the 406 x 812mm size gives the same effect on a wall without going to slab. On smaller tiles the veining gets chopped up and loses impact, so save those for secondary areas. Lay pieces out dry before you fix anything, and book-match slabs where you can, so the movement carries across the joins. Choosing a finish
Available finishes: Honed and polished finish with a smooth, refined surface and subtle sheen that highlights the marble’s crisp white tones, elegant grey veining, and warm gold accents.
As a guide with marble, a polished finish brings the veining and golden accents up strongest and gives the most depth, which suits benchtops, splashbacks and feature walls, though it shows wear and etching more readily. A honed finish is flatter and more forgiving, and on a white marble it hides day-to-day marking noticeably better, which makes it the safer pick for floors and busy benchtops.
