Perlino Bianco is a soft silver-grey limestone with delicate horizontal striations running across it.
The colour is a soft silver-grey, lifted by subtle ivory highlights and fine warm veining. What sets it apart is the movement: delicate horizontal striations run in bands across the stone, giving it a layered, linear character rather than random cloud. Laid across a floor, the lines carry through and give the surface direction and rhythm, so a large area holds interest without looking busy. It suits contemporary schemes and pairs well with white joinery, timber, concrete, black tapware and brushed metals.

Where it works
Limestone is a softer, more porous stone, so it wants sealing and a bit of care, and acids will etch it much like a marble. The linear striations are the thing to plan around with Perlino Bianco. Run the bands one way and they lengthen a space, which suits hallways, bathrooms and narrow feature walls. The 305 x 610mm size shows the striations off best, since the longer format gives them room to run. Set the layout out dry first so the direction is right before you fix anything. Depending on the finish and how hard-wearing this particular stone is, it can also suit outdoor and alfresco areas where a natural, non-slip surface is wanted. The recommended applications for this stone are still being confirmed, so contact us and we can advise on the right fit for your job, indoors or out.
Choosing a finish
Available finishes: Available in polished, honed, tumbled, honed and tumbled, or sandblasted and tumbled finishes, each enhancing the limestone’s soft ivory-white tones, fine natural texture, and refined timeless character.
As a guide with limestone, a honed finish gives a smooth, natural matte face that suits internal floors, walls and living areas, and shows the striations most clearly. A brushed or textured finish adds grip underfoot, which makes it the safer pick for wet areas, pool surrounds and outdoor use. Limestone is not usually polished the way marble is, since the matte, natural look is the point. If you are unsure which finish fits your project, give us a call and we can talk it through.
