Grey Emprador is a cool dove grey marble cut through with bright white crystalline veining.
The base is a cool dove grey, softened by taupe undertones that stop it reading as flat concrete. Across it runs white crystalline veining, sharp and bright against the grey, which is what gives this stone its presence. The contrast is strong, so it reads clearly from across a room rather than only up close. Over a large area the veining carries plenty of movement, so it is a stone that makes a statement rather than sitting quietly in the background. It works with white joinery, timber, black tapware and brushed metals.

Where it works
Grey Emprador is a marble, so it wants a bit more care than the travertines in the range. It is softer, etches with acids, and needs sealing once it is down, which makes it best suited to areas where it will be seen rather than worked hard. With veining this strong, it does its best work as a feature. A slab on a vanity, island end or feature wall lets the veining run properly, where a large tiled floor can start to feel busy. Lay a few pieces out dry before you fix anything so the heavier and lighter veining spreads evenly. Available finishes: Honed and polished finish with a smooth, refined surface and subtle sheen that enhances the marble’s rich grey tones and distinctive natural veining.
As a guide with marble, a polished finish brings the white veining up brightest against the grey, which suits vanities, splashbacks and feature walls, though it shows wear and etching more readily. A honed finish softens the contrast and is more forgiving, and holds up better on floors and benchtops in daily use.
