A glossy finish lifts the deep blue, while a matte or mixed finish suits the weathered, mineral character particularly well. Grout colour makes a big difference with mosaic, since there is so much of it: a mid or dark blue-grey grout keeps the deep, aged look and lets the speckling lead, while a white grout would brighten and flatten the weathered effect.
