Statuario is a luminous white marble with bold smoky-grey veining and soft cloudy movement.
The base is a bright, luminous white, cleaner and whiter than a Carrara, which is what makes the veining read so strongly against it. Bold smoky-grey veins sweep across the surface, backed by softer cloudy movement that stops the pattern feeling stark. The contrast is dramatic and the movement is large in scale, so it makes a statement and carries a room from a distance. It is one of the most prized looks in natural marble, and it works with brass, timber, white joinery, black tapware and both warm and cool neutrals.

Where it works
Statuario is a marble, so it wants a bit more care than the travertines in the range. It is softer, etches with acids, and needs sealing once it is down, which makes it best suited to areas where it will be seen rather than worked hard. The bold veining is the whole point, so it rewards a large, uninterrupted surface. A slab on an island, benchtop or feature wall lets the movement flow the way it should, and the 610 x 610mm size gives a strong effect on a wall or floor without going to slab. On smaller tiles the veining gets chopped up and loses impact, so save those for secondary areas. Lay pieces out dry before you fix anything, and book-match slabs where you can, so the movement carries across the joins. Available finishes: Honed and polished finish with a smooth, refined surface and subtle sheen that highlights the marble’s bright white tones and dramatic grey veining.
As a guide with marble, a polished finish brings the veining up strongest and gives the most depth and drama, which suits benchtops, splashbacks and feature walls, though it shows wear and etching more readily. A honed finish is flatter and more forgiving, and on a white marble it hides day-to-day marking noticeably better, which makes it the safer pick for floors and busy benchtops.
