The base is a genuinely white marble, bright and clean rather than cream or ivory. Soft silver-grey veining runs through it, drifting in cloudy patches rather than sharp lines, which keeps the stone calm. Over a large floor or wall it reads as an even, light white with quiet shadowing that only shows properly up close. Where it works
Afyon Estromez is a marble, so it wants a bit more care than the travertines in the range. It is softer, etches with acids, and needs sealing once it is down, which makes it best suited to areas where it will be seen rather than worked hard. Being a pale marble, marks and etching show more readily than they would on a darker stone, so it is worth being realistic about traffic before you commit it to a busy floor. Where it earns its keep is bathrooms, splashbacks, feature walls and any space you want to feel light. Because the movement is subtle, it runs well over a large area without becoming busy. A honed finish is flatter and more forgiving, and on a white marble it hides day-to-day marking noticeably better, which makes it the safer pick for floors and benchtops.
