Myra-Beige-Limestone

Myra Beige Limestone

Myra Beige is a soft chalky ivory limestone with a light, natural, quietly elegant character.

The colour is a soft chalky ivory, warmed just enough by subtle beige undertones to avoid feeling stark. Delicate fossil flecks are scattered through the stone, fine and understated, giving it quiet natural detail rather than strong pattern. Over a large floor or wall it reads as a light, even ivory with that matte, chalky limestone character, the flecks showing only up close. It opens a space up and pairs naturally with timber, rattan, linen tones, white joinery and greenery.

Where it works

Limestone is a softer, more porous stone, so it wants sealing and a bit of care, and acids will etch it much like a marble. Its strength is a natural, matte, understated look, and the pale ivory tone here brings light into a space rather than warmth. Being light, it stays cooler underfoot than darker stone in direct sun. The chalky character suits it to bathrooms, feature walls, living floors and, depending on the finish and how hard-wearing this particular stone is, outdoor and alfresco areas where a natural, non-slip surface is wanted. The wide size range, from small format through to slab, covers everything from feature walls to broad floors. The recommended applications for this stone are still being confirmed, so contact us and we can advise on the right fit for your job, indoors or out.

Choosing a finish

Available finishes: Available in polished, honed, tumbled, honed and tumbled, or sandblasted and tumbled finishes, each enhancing the limestone’s soft beige tones, natural texture, and timeless warmth.

As a guide with limestone, a honed finish gives a smooth, natural matte face that suits internal floors, walls and living areas, and shows the chalky tone and fossil flecks cleanly. A brushed or textured finish adds grip underfoot, which makes it the safer pick for wet areas, pool surrounds and outdoor use. Limestone is not usually polished the way marble is, since the matte, natural look is the point. If you are unsure which finish fits your project, give us a call and we can talk it through.
